Rollerblade Pro XT Inline Skates Review

My first impression was of amazement and excitement when I received my skates. Unfortunately, my happiness started to fade away when I first used them. The first flaw in the design are the wheels. I was skating in a basemanet (smooth floor) and my wheels started to crack everywhere. On the third day of skating, one of wheels was completeley destroyed, even though I never took the skates through a rough surface.

Even though, I had a bad experience with the wheels, I quickly changed them for some Hyper Wheels. Things ran smoother after that, until yesterday (two weeks later!!!) when the joint on my boot fell off. So now, one of my skates is not supporting my leg or ankle, making me wobble from side to side.

I don't know if it's just my luck, or this product is faulty, since a friend of mine (a girl) has bought the same skates (but obviously te women's line), and she has no complains until now.

As for me, I'm buying a new pair of skates, since these hace caused me a lot of trouble. If you need more proof, here's a link with some photos of my wheel and the skate that broke:

What a disappointment. It's like skating in mud.

The bearings are ABEC 1 but they must be especially low grade. I feel ripped off in that I now have to invest in a better set of bearings. Maybe new wheels altogether.

Spacers arrived quickly.Fit axle and bearing perfectly.I was replacing a custom bearing that had an axle size hole, with standard bearings.These spacers solved the problem with the bearing hole being larger than the axle.The original bearings jutted out wider than the bearing, giving the wheel room in the skate.Added 6mm washers to either side of spacers and every thing works great.

If you want to get a little better performance with your in-line skates you might want to consider upgrading your spacers to Aluminum Spacers. I am selling an 8 pack of industrial airplane-grade aluminum spacers. 8 is what you need to upgrade your 4-wheel skates. Most older skates come with plastic. They were fine back in the day, but there is something better. If you like to go fast, don't be held back by obsolete hardware. These fit in virtually all brands of skates. The reason aluminum spacers work better is this: When you are in your skates your weight is pushing the skates into the ground and the wheels are pushing back up--this puts pressure on the spacers. An old-fashioned plastic spacer bends under your weight. As it bends it puts pressure on the inside of the bearings. The bearings are trying their best to spin, but they receive all this pressure that it impedes it from spinning as freely. Aluminum spacers are so strong--I don't care how heavy you are--they don't bend at all. If you try to squeeze these with pliers or a vise you can't do it--that's how strong they are. And they weigh virtually nothing!!!! Well, that minimizes or eliminates any drag on the bearings. Nowadays most high-end skates come with aluminim spacers. It is not the most exciting product in the world, but it makes a big difference in your skate's performance. If you have an older pair of skates--this will give you a little turbo boost. If you like to do tricks and stunts--these are pretty much unbreakable-- If you play hockey and want a little more speed-- this is a small thing you can do to improve your game.These measure about 15/16" across or 23mm (They should be identical to the ones you already have--just a different material). The interior diameter of the hole where the axle goes through is 1/4" or 7mm. There are a few exceptions--if your axles are wider than this they will not fit, but there are not a whole lot of skates out there that have axles like that.

K2 SPORTS Men's Mach 90 Skates Review

This might be my 5th pair of K2 skates in some 15 - 18 years. This is my 1st time on 90mm wheels. Very fast and not too difficult to get used to the extra height increase. In the begining and once when I couldn't find any lace up K2's I tried some other brands. Both times ended up with broken skates and returning to K2. I appreciate the extra durability. I do have a narrow foot for a guy and have bought womens shates a couple times. I skate year round. Good Stuff thanks guys!

K2 Moto 84 Mens Inline Skates Review

Ive owned or used several brands /pairs of inline skates over the years. It had been about 3-4 years since I was on skates when I decided to take an afternoon out with friends to skate a local bike/walk/skate path. I wore these K2 Moto84's which were borrowed from a friend. I've always liked the K2 softboots as they are breathable and comfortable and these were no exception. The trip was about 6+ miles and my feet never felt uncomfortable. The skates are surprisingly lightweight, probably due to the softboot and lightwieght aluminum frame. Wheels and bearings were very smooth and quiet. Not the fastest ride Ive ever had, but very very good for sure. The boot is extremely comfortable and the speed lacing system is just awesome. No more tying laces, or re-tying when they inevitably come undone. This makes for very quick times when putting on and taking off your skates. Overall, this is a terrific skate and I'd certainly recommend it.

One thing to note...
The fit of this skate is a "true fit", which means you should order the same size as your sneaker. If you use Rollerblade brand (or Roller Derby), you should know that K2 runs slightly slimmer in the foot than RB and RD. Those brands have a slightly wider foot fitment.

Roller Derby 9.9 Mens Inline Skates Review

Purchased this with modest expectations. The brake pad wore completely out after 10 days and six short uses. Customer service at first did not respond to emails, fax, voice mail asking for replacement and noting the defect. I can't find the replacement pad anywhere else (sideways bolt vs. everyone else's bottom bolt).... A few days have passed since original review and, unexpectedly, the mfg has expressed me two new brake pads.Free. Nice. Go ahead and purchase this product and get some extra brakes from the mfg.

Rollerblade Skate Bag 2010 Review

This Rollerblade brand bag for inline skates is very lightweight but large enough to hold comfortably my SpeedMachine 10 skates which have a very long frame (100mm wheels + brake), as well as padding and helmet. There is a large mesh pocket on the outside (too small for a helmet but it will hold wrist guards and knee and elbow pads), and a small zippered pocket inside to hold a wallet or a couple of tools.
You can carry the bag using the adjustable shoulder strap, or the comfortable lined handle.
This inexpensive bag is nothing fancy, but it's well designed and very convenient, and just big enough to fit the largest skates. Recommended.

Rollerblade Spiritblade XT Men's Skate Review

These skates are great! Only problem I have with them, hense the 4 stars, is that the bearings that come with the skates, SG5's, are pretty pathetic and don't spin that fast. I definitely recommend changing them out, as I did, with ABEC 9's. Yea they're more expensive but if you're going for speed as I do, you'll want to change out the factory bearings.
Other then that, as with any new pair of skates, expect your feet to be sore after the first few times you go out with them until you break them in.
Since they're soft boot, go 1 step down in size from your shoe size. I'm size 11, and I bought size 10, and it fits perfectly!
You know you're getting quality when you buy Rollerblade. When these eventually wear out years down the road, I'll definitely go with this manufacturer of inline rollerblades again!

Clear / Silver Inline Skate Wheels 80mm 82a 8-Pack Review

Obviously you get what you pay for. These are one of the cheapest sets of wheels I found on Amazon. First of all let me tell you I am a 6'10" 260 lbs. guy that goes through a set of inline wheels in a year. I did have two of the plastic rims of the wheels break on me, and the wheels were useless. I contacted TGM and they replaced it with no questions asked. If you are a heavy person I would recommend putting these wheels on the back and putting a tougher wheel on the front.

I would buy these wheels again, and I will definitely do business with TGM again!

Bladerunner Women's Pro 78 US Skate Review

These rollerblades were an excellent buy for the money brand new. They were actually more stylish than I imagined, as well as comfortable. I am a size 10 wide and thought it would run short or narrow but didn't. I would recommend these to any intermediate inline adult skater who just want to keep up with their kids on wheels or just for a more fun way of exercising.

The only down side is that I can feel every bump and grove on pavement, so I would have liked a smoother cruise!

Bladerunner Women's Formula 80 US Skate Review

I just got a pair of Roller Derby's for my 5 year old son and this for myself. I had a couple of friends who had Bladerunner from Rollerblades for themselves and recommanded it. I don't know how to roller skatebut want to keep up with my son. I tried on the old styled ones with four wheels once at a rink when I was a teenager and didn't like it (I fell so many times and back then I didn't wear protective gear so it hurt my palms a lot which made me pretty much give up). Maybe having learned skiiing a few years back and being moderately good at it re-ignited the interst and confidence (on top of wanting to roller skate with my son together), I got this pair for myself after some online research. Just got these yesterday and found out that it's not that different from walking up hills in a pair of skis. They're very comfortable, nice looking, rolls quietly and freely (this time around I got protective gears for both my son and myself, dah, good idea huh?) and I actually started to walk / roll around the house on the wood floors soon after I put these on. Great product and I love it! Now all I have to worry about is to keep up with my son's progress!

Roller Derby Pro Line 900 Women's Inline Skates Review

I really like the smooth ride but transitioning from old school Lightening Rollerblades, these are a little more bulky and slightly more hard to maneuver fast turns, but the stoppers work great!These are good for beginning, intermediate... and advance skater might find them kind of cumbersome but at least they are smooth ride and good for exercise.:O) I wish there was just a little less plastic but otherwise they are comfy and I am pretty happy with them in terms of an exercise tool.Price was great too !

K2 Celena Womens Inline Skates Review

I've been skating for 20 years or so, and I have to say: these are a really good pair of skates for commuting, amature speed skating, and general recreational skating.

For commuting, they're surprisingly fast to get into and out of.There is a velcro strap, a quick plastic ratcheting buckle, and fast-pull laces.The fast pull laces are great: they run into a little ratchet, so to tighten the laces you just pull up on them.To loosen again, press the button on the ratchet.The boots also have large hand loops for the back and tongue of the boot, making it really easy to just grab and shove your feet in.For lazy people like me, fast in / out like this is nice, especially when going off to stores / houses / etc.

The wheels have a nice soft durometer, and the 90mm-ness helps.Skating over brick sidewalks is a lot more comfortable on these than my last pair.The 90mm wheels seem to add a little to speed, but not tremendously.Mostly I notice how the larger wheels seem to grip a bit better before slipping, and the skate's overall lighter weight.Do note that if it is wet out, for some reason water seems to slip in through the heel.Why just the heel, I don't know.

For my particular foot, these skates just *feel* right.I'm not a woman, but the ankle cut on these is a lot more comfortable than the ankle cut on their mens, or the Rollerblade equivalent.It does seem to be a bit narrower than many, so those with wide feet might want to try on a mens or another brand.Of course, trying on different brands / sizes before you order is always a good idea, since for skating the feel is the most important thing.

This may be obvious, but extreme trick skaters might want to look elsewhere.Sure they can jump / ramp / etc.But the bottom wheel frame is a light plastic, and was clearly never intended to take a grind plate.Also note that colors might vary from the photo.The skate that I was shipped was a really stylish white, grey, and black.I'm happy with the difference, but realize that there may be a difference.

Overall, I love these skates.I never thought I would skate a K2, but I'm really happy with the fit and structure of these.They've made my morning commute a more fun and comfortable, and have me thinking of long-distance tour skating.And for the price, these are a great deal.

Bladerunner Men's Formula 80 US Skate Review

This item was amazing. it was ready to use right out of the box. the size of the rollerblades is basicly the same size as your shoes. they fit snuggly on your feet and you can rollerblade for up to an hour without getting sore or tired. i use these every night, one down side of this package are the wheels. i believe that they are abit too soft so i recommend getting better ones. the brace for the shoes are great but they look like they might break if you put too much stress on them... but over all this was amazing. i love it

For some reason it's a lot easier to skate in these than a lot of others out there. I think it's because the wheels are rubber (vs. plastic) so they grip the floor, rather than slipping. If you are willing to spend the money, these will likely enable you to be way less involved in helping her skate.

Roller Derby Hybrid G900 Womens Inline Skates Review

I got these and they are awesome and fast. Great price here with amazon and free shipping no other store could beat their price. Comfy well padded skate. Where else can you get an abec 9 bearing on a skate under $70? I do recommend ordering one size up from reg shoe size. I wear an 8 and ordered the 9 and its a perfect fit. size 8 was way too tight.

Roller Derby Web Stinger Adjustable Girl's Inline Skates Review

I was very disappointed with these skates! I bought them for my 7 year old. She could not get them on by herself. There are so many pressure points inside the skate and the linings are so thin, we had to use linings form her old pair to make them wearable. The ties in the front are so thin, you cannot pull them tight enough to really make the skate feel secure on the foot. The are very cheap looking, not at all like the picture. NOT at all worth the price!!!
